About this work +

Strong raking sunlight passes through a run of metal barrier gates — their crossed diagonal bars casting a repeating star-and-diamond shadow pattern across a pale stone-flagged pavement — creating two simultaneous compositions: the gate itself receding along the left edge, and its shadow-twin sprawling across the floor to the right. The result is as much graphic print as photograph.

  • Style: black-and-white street and architectural photography, shadow study
  • Theme: urban, architectural detail, light and shadow
  • Colour palette: bright pale stone and deep cast shadow, full monochrome range
  • Tone: high-contrast and graphic, with crisp directional light
  • Mood: Evokes an alert, pattern-seeking pleasure — the everyday city momentarily resolved into something closer to textile or print.
  • Ideal for: Well-suited to hallways, home offices, or contemporary urban interiors that appreciate found geometry and strong light.

This piece is made to order. Once you've chosen your frame, size and mount, it's printed and hand-framed for you in the UK: a considered alternative to mass-produced, off-the-shelf prints.
