Every TheArtFolio piece is finished by hand to archival standards. Here is how our frame styles, colours, mounts and sizes work, matching what you choose on each product page.
Frame styles
Every piece is framed to order in solid, sustainably sourced hardwood. Four moulding profiles are available on the product page. Face widths below are the approximate moulding front:
Frame colours
Finishes range from timber and painted woods to metals and Venice dual-tones. Choose None for an unframed print. Not every colour is available on every style; the product page shows what pairs with your chosen moulding.
Typical colour pairings
- Standard / Wide Box: None, Oak, Black, White (plus Classic finishes such as Bronze, Gold, Natural, Silver, Antique Gold and Antique Silver where shown)
- Swoop: White, Black, Gold, Silver
- Venice: Silver, Black and Pewter, Terracotta and Silver, White and Silver
Mounts
A mount (or mat) sits between the print and the frame, giving the artwork room to breathe. Ours are acid-free, conservation-grade and bevel-cut to protect the work for decades. Pick a mount colour to suit your piece and your wall, or choose No mount to let the image run closer to the frame edge. On single-panel sizes the mount width follows the size tier; when you choose the Diptych or Triptych Size option, each panel uses a fixed 25 mm (2.5 cm) mount.
Glazing
Frames are finished with lightweight acrylic glazing rather than glass. It is optically clear, shatter-resistant and far safer in transit and on the wall: ideal for larger pieces and homes with children or pets. On request we can supply a UV-filtering option to help protect colours from fading in bright rooms.
Sizes
Single-panel works are offered in four tiers (Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large) with print dimensions that follow the artwork’s orientation (portrait, landscape or square). Square and landscape products also offer an optional multi-panel Size (Diptych or Triptych). Exact centimetre sizes appear on each product page as you configure.

Diptych & Triptych
On square and landscape works, Diptych and Triptych are optional Size choices alongside Small–Extra Large, not separate product types. Each multi-panel size is one fixed overall size. Panels are spaced 5 cm apart, and each panel is a complete frame with a full-width mount on all four sides — the same as a single-panel product. The mount on each panel is a fixed 25 mm (2.5 cm) border. Diptych (two panels) appears on square works; Triptych (three panels) on landscape works. Portrait works keep the four single-panel sizes only.

Framed outer size (approx.)
Outer measurements below assume a Standard or Deep Classic moulding (~2 cm) with a mount. Wider styles (Swoop, Venice) and No mount will change the final outer size slightly; use the product preview for the exact look. Multi-panel outer widths include the 5 cm gaps between complete frames.

Made to order
Because each frame and mount is assembled for your chosen specification, framed pieces are made to order and typically dispatched within 5–7 working days. Unframed prints usually ship within 48 hours. As made-to-order items, framed pieces fall outside the standard 14-day change-of-mind return window, though your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods are unaffected.
