Social connections

One caption posts to Instagram, Facebook and the LinkedIn company page. Facebook and Instagram share one Page token. LinkedIn is a separate organisation login — never a personal profile.

LinkedIn company page

Connect as an admin of TheArtFolio’s company page. The app needs the Community Management product. Posts go out as the organisation. Client ID and secret live as Supabase secrets, not in Shopify and not on this page.

Meta connection

One Facebook Page token posts to both Facebook and Instagram. Tokens from Graph API Explorer expire in about an hour — swap in a never-expiring token today.

Instagram is linked on the Page. Graph returns account 17841427776280463 automatically — do not put that in the Page ID field.

Stop it expiring

  1. Open Access Token Debugger, paste the current token, and check Expires.
  2. Best: Meta Business Suite → Settings → Users → System users. Assign this user to The ArtFolio Page. Generate a token for the TheArtFolio Promote app with pages_manage_posts, pages_read_engagement, pages_show_list, instagram_basic, instagram_content_publish, and business_management. Choose no expiry if offered.
  3. Fallback: in Graph API Explorer get a User token with those permissions (tick The ArtFolio in the Facebook dialog), debug it, click Extend Access Token, then submit 1136713779522660?fields=access_token,name,instagram_business_account. Paste that Page access_token into Shopify. Debugger should then say Expires: Never.

If posting fails

  1. Explorer → app TheArtFolio Promote → User or Page → The ArtFolio (not User Token).
  2. Add business_management if it is missing, then Generate Access Token and tick the Page.
  3. Submit me?fields=id,name,instagram_business_account. You want id …2660 and an Instagram object. me/accounts is empty on a Page token — that is normal.
  4. Put that Page id and token in the shop metafields. Hard-refresh this page. Do not paste tokens here or in chat.
